CQC Report

The practice underwent a CQC inspection in February this year and we have just received the report, and details of the results are set out below.

We were very disappointed with the CQC findings overall but pleased to see the inspectors recognised the many things that practice does well, and in particular that we were rated as “good” for being a caring practice.

Unfortunately there was a delay of 7 months between the inspection and publication of the report, during which time we have already made a number of changes to improve the service we offer to our patients.

We have introduced a new appointments system to help with access. Any patient calling for an on the day appointment will have an initial telephone conversation with a GP and will be offered an appointment to meet their needs

·         Additional phone lines have been enabled at the practice to make contacting the surgery easier

·         We have recruited a second nurse  practitioner to help deal with urgent problems

·         We have also appointed a clinical pharmacist who offers additional appointments for medicines queries. Improvements have been made to our repeat prescribing procedures and additional training has been provided for all staff involved.

·         We are actively engaging with the community to set up an innovative health coach programme.

We have a hard working and committed team at the practice. We aim to continuously improve our practice and welcome feedback on any aspect of our services.
